Anita Dhople, MDHospitalist
Anita Dhople, MD is part of our Health First hospitalist team. She is a board certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist. Prior to joining Health First Medical Group in 2008, Dr. Dhople was an Internist with the Piedmont Physicians Group in Atlanta, GA.
Born in Baltimore, MD., Dr. Dhople earned both her Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree and Medical Degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She then moved to Virginia, where she completed residency training in Med/Psychiatry and Internal Medicine from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Dr. Dhople has held academic teaching positions, including Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the Department of Medicine at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA., and American College of Physicians Educator for the Diabetes Care Program of the Georgia Medical Care Foundation.
Dr. Dhople served as a Staff Internist for the Department of Internal Medicine at Albany Area Primary Health Care in Albany, GA. She also was the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program and Blood Conservation Program for Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, also in Albany.
Dr. Dhople is particularly interested in women’s health with an emphasis on cardiovascular prevention, and quality improvement in the hospital setting. She has volunteered her medical expertise for several organizations, including the Southwest Georgia Medical Team on a medical trip to Karakonam, India, and the Charlottesville, VA. Free Clinic. She also served with the Mental Health Clinic and the Equal Access (Homeless) Clinic, both in Gainesville, FL.
She has published numerous research articles, and given a wide range of presentations to medical professionals in various healthcare settings. She is a member of several professional groups. She was one of a few selected physicians chosen to present research on fulminant hepatitis at an American College of Physicians meeting.
