Christopher Kwon, MD is a board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon who came to Health First from Northside/Tampa Bay Heart Institute, HCA Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida where he was the Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Co-Director of Structural Heart. He served his Surgical Residency at Sinai Hospital – Life-Bridge Cardiovascular Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Kwon earned his Master of Business Administration from the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He studied Cardiothoracic Surgery at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Kwon studied General Surgery at Case Western Reserve University’s University Hospitals of Cleveland. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in Vascular Pathobiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City where he graduated with research distinction. Dr. Kwon was a Clinical Research Assistant in Behavioral Pediatrics at Boston City Hospital. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Dr. Kwon is licensed to practice medicine in Florida. He is fluent in English, Korean and Spanish. He is a Console Surgeon, Da Vinci-certified, MitraClip™-certified, and TACR-certified for CoreValve and Sapien.
