Doris Thornhill, APRN is part of our Health First hospitalist team. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Florida Southern College. She is a Registered Nurse (RN) and has earned her Advanced Practice Nurse License (APRN).
Doris is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) and holds a certification by the AACN as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN). She has also earned her Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC). She is certified by the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Doris is active as a Clinical Nurse Educator at Health First. She facilitates and teaches at the skills fairs for nursing and radiology providers. She is the clinical nurse expert for procedural areas and serves as chair of the Best Practice Committee to review policies and procedures to ensure patients receive the best possible care.

She has spent her entire career caring for patients and has served as Clinical Charge Nurse and Staff RN for the Department of Radiology at Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center. She also worked as Health First Education Department Instructor and Surgical Intensive Care Unit Staff Nurse for Holmes Regional.

She has a decorated career at Health First winning multiple awards including Star Performer of the Quarter, Clinical Excellence in Nursing, Mentoring and Advanced Practice and Associate of the Month.
