Dr. Ian Steele began serving Brevard in 2007 and is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He was born in Minnesota, but grew up in Miami after his parents discovered the warmer climate of South Florida. Dr. Steele graduated from the University of Miami through their Honors Program in Medicine, which allowed him to complete his undergraduate and medical school training in 6 years. He did his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Steele was selected to be Chief Resident at Shands Hospital and afterwards completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Florida.

After his fellowship, Dr. Steele and his family moved to Melbourne. Dr. Steele’s clinical interests include colon cancer screening and prevention, as well as liver disease and hepatitis. He has given numerous presentations at state and national conferences on GI research and other GI related topics. He is currently sub-investigator on a study looking at stool testing for colon cancer. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, and photography.
