Jaime Tavarez, MD, Board-certified in Internal Medicine, is a member of the Health First Medical Group, serving patients at Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center. He earned his Medical degree from Universidad of Autonoma de Guadalajara. He completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Vincent Medical Center in New York City. Following completion of his residency, Dr. Tavarez served as the Teaching Attending Physician at New York Downtown Hospital. He also served as Associate Professor in Medicine with Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Tavarez focuses his practice on wellness and preventive medicine. He cares for adults, with a focus on the elderly. He specializes in the management of chronic medical problems such as hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid, renal disease, COPD, arthritis, and osteoporosis.

Dr. Tavarez has been recognized for delivery of quality care by the NCQA. He was named among the Top Ten Internal Medicine Doctors (2012) in New York City.

Dr. Tavarez is married and has two daughters. He enjoys surfing and snowboarding.
