Jeannette Groschel-Snead, APRN is a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner.
Jeannette earned a Bachelor of Science Degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Nursing from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. She then earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing/Adult Nurse Practitioner from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN.

Before joining Health First, Jeannette served as a transitional care nurse practitioner for Senior Care Transitions, a primary and specialty care skilled nursing facility in Minnesota for patients discharged from the hospital needing short-term care. Eight-five percent of the patient population was geriatric. She provided independent care, with physician support and collaboration as needed.

Jeannette began her nursing career in 1999 as a critical care nurse/intensive care charge nurse. There she provided patient care for patients in a 20-bed intensive care unit, using a multi-disciplinary approach and advanced technical nursing skills. She received additional training and patient care experience in emergency medicine and recovery room nursing. As the charge nurse, she was responsible for staff assignments and staff support.

In 2011 Jeannette served as a nurse practitioner at Winona Community Hospital in Winona, MN, providing inpatient care for medical, surgical and intensive care patients with an average age of over 80 with multiple co-morbidities. She provided independent care with multi-disciplinary support including pharmacist, therapy, dietician and nursing. Physician support was available on site. She also provided medical care for psychiatric/behavioral health patients. Jeannette’s duties included admission history and physicals, diagnosis, treatment and discharge to a variety of settings including home, transitional care, and extended care settings. She provided consult to general surgery to assist inpatient management of complex patients.

Jeannette served as a critical care educator, providing Basic Life Support instruction, Advanced Cardiac Life Support instruction and ECG and Trauma Nurse Certification staff training. She provided community outreach services, including health screenings and counseling for the Women’s Heart Advantage sponsored by HealthEast.
