Joseph J. Bedway, Jr., MD, is a Board-certified Surgeon for the Health First Medical Group. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, where he earned an undergraduate degree in Economics with a minor in Chemistry. He completed Medical School at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA.
Prior to joining the Health First Medical Group, Dr. Bedway served as the Administrative Chief Resident at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando. He was a Resident Instructor of Surgery for the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.

He conducted presentations on a wide range of topics including Role of Platelet Function Assays in Traumatically Brain Injured Patients, Nutritional Requirements of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome/Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis Patients, Hemodynamic Effects of Vitamin C Infusion on Burn Patients with Pulmonary Artery Catheters, and Effects of Antiplatelet Medications on Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury.

In both high school and college Dr. Bedway was an avid golfer. In 1999 he served as the Golf Team Captain for his high school and finished sixth in the Pennsylvania State High School golf tournament. He was a member of the Muhlenberg College golf team, and was the 2001 winner of the Muhlenberg College Invitational. Dr. Bedway enjoys CrossFit training, golfing, hiking, mountain climbing, rock climbing, fly fishing, running, and travel
