Katherine “Penny” Leonard is a Family Nurse Practitioner with the Health First Now Urgent Care team. She worked as a Registered Nurse with Health First for 20 years, where she was honored as a Star Performer, High Performer and a Daisy Award nominee.
Leonard completed her Nurse Practitioner Internship at Health First Urgent Care and Health First Medical Group Internal Medicine in Malabar, FL. She also traveled to La Antigua, Guatemala to study abroad and spent five months at Doc Urgent Care in Melbourne, FL during her internship.

Leonard earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. Leonard earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Adventist University of Health Sciences in Orlando, FL. She holds Associate in Science degrees in Emergency Medical Services and Nursing, as well as an Associate in Arts degree in General Education.

Leonard is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Space Coast Clinicians and the Emergency Nurses Association. She has served on numerous local committees including as chair of the Emergency Department Best Practice Committee at Health First and on the Ethics Committee at Health First.
