Michelle Pownall, MSN, APRN-BC began pursuing her medical career as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and received her Registered Nurse (RN) degree from Indian River State College in 1997. She received her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of Central Florida in 2009 and her Master’s degree in 2011 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
She has 14 years of experience working in local emergency departments and is a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN). She is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She has been an adjunct instructor at the Health First Center for Learning and has been a preceptor for advanced practice nursing students.

Michelle joined the Medical Group in 2013 as a full-time nurse practitioner with the HFnow Urgent Care Clinic in Malabar. She has been a lifelong resident of South Brevard County. She is married with two (2) sons. She believes that staying active is essential in maintaining optimal health and enjoys cycling, yoga, fishing and gardening, among other outdoor activities.
