Peter K. Garas, MD, is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon who comes to Health First from the University of Chicago Department of Orthopedic Surgery in Chicago, Illinois where he completed his Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship.
Dr. Garas completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program and earned his Doctor of Medicine at University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Garas earned his Bachelor of Science in neuroscience with honors, summa cum laude, and a minor in biology from University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, Massachusetts.
Dr. Garas is licensed to practice medicine in Florida. He has earned numerous awards, including the Rose A. Carey Memorial Scholarship for dedication to the field of medicine. He has published research in his field and presented at several national conferences. Dr. Garas enjoys giving back to the community and has spent several years volunteering at the Children’s Hospital in Boston. In his free time, he participates in intramural basketball, running, hiking, traveling and church activities.
