Peter A. Walker, MD is a member of the Health First team at Palm Bay and Viera Hospitals, with additional training in Bariatric and Reflux Surgery. Before his tenure at Health First, Dr. Walker was the Chief of Surgery at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital in Katy, TX where he also served as the Director of both Robotics and Bariatrics. During this time, he held the titles of Assistant Professor of Surgery and Associate Program Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowships at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO and his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO.
Dr. Walker completed a General Surgery residency, an NIH sponsored research fellowship, and a Minimally Invasive/Robotic Surgery fellowship at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He has been widely published and presented multiple research and educational topics at both local and national meetings.
