Sandra Armstrong, Nurse Practitioner, Supervising (NP,S)Internal Medicine
Sandy Armstrong is an APRN for the Health First Medical Group. Prior to joining Health First as an APRN, she served as a staff nurse for Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center. Sandra previously served six years as the Chief Nursing Officer for Sebastian River Medical Center in Indian River County and Vice President of Nursing for another Brevard County hospital system.
She began her nursing career in 1990 as a Staff Nurse in the ER/ICU for University Hospital in Syracuse, NY. She then served 16 years at the University Hospital in Syracuse, holding the positions of Director of Nursing Quality Assurance, and later Director of Nursing. She also provided nursing care for North Medical Urgent Care in Syracuse. Sandra spent eight years working with VHA Empire State and VHA Consulting in the areas of Performance Improvement and Accreditation. She has been with HFMG working with the Internal Medicine Group at the Malabar office since 2011.
Sandra earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from State University of New York at Buffalo, where she was born. She received her Master of Science degree in Nursing and her APRN certification from Syracuse University in New York. She received her post Master’s Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Central Florida. She is also certified as a Florida Risk Manager and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
Sandra and her husband live in Palm Bay. They have two adult children and two Cairn Terriers.
