Suzanne Schoenrock, Nurse Practitioner, Supervising (NP,S)Urogynecology
Suzanne Schoenrock is a board certified APRN. Suzanne earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree with honors as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Florida Atlantic University in Harbor Branch, Ft. Pierce, FL.
Suzanne is not new to Health First. Before becoming an APRN, Suzanne served as an Operating Room Robotic Coordinator for Health First’s Viera Hospital. Her responsibilities included providing direct care to operating room patients as a circulating nurse, surgical first assist and scrub nurse. During that period, Suzanne served as Operating Room (OR) Manager, helping to open the Surgical Services Department when the Health First’s Viera Hospital opened. Her responsibilities as OR Manager included coordination with surgeons, vendors and materials management to establish supply, equipment and instrument par levels. She managed the daily operations of the OR, as well as established the performance improvement projects for that area. She trained, supervised and evaluated staff, coaching those needing improvement.
Before joining Health First, Suzanne served as Bariatric/Orthopedic Manager at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, FL. There she performed daily rounds on all patients admitted to the Bariatric & Orthopedic Institute, as well as assisted in surgery. She conducted educational classes for patients, OR staff, and Medical/Surgical staff members, as well as discharge classes for all Bariatric patients. She was Chair of the Bariatric Service Committee that established protocols and benchmarks for date collection.
In 2001 Suzanne served as Neuro/Orthopedic Spine Surgical Coordinator at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, MI. Five years later she moved to Florida, where she served as Surgical Services Manager at Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee, FL. There she managed 85 direct reports within Ambulatory Surgery, eight OR suites, 13 Post Anesthesia Care beds, two Endoscopy suites and the Central Supply Department.
Suzanne served a specialty practicum with Health First Medical Group physicians Dr. Allison, Dr. Kenneth Tieu, and Dr. Aimee Tieu, in the areas of General Bariatric, Urogynecological and Robotic Surgery. She completed a practicum in Women’s Health under Dr. John Bomalaski in the areas of Gynecologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery.
Suzanne has completed the Registered Nurse First Assistant program, the Three-day Suture Workshop and the Single Site and First Assist DaVinci Robotic courses. She is a member of Space Coast Clinicians and the Graduate School of Nursing Organization. She has completed certifications in Certified Nurse of the Operating Room, AANP Board Certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse First Assistant.
Suzanne has published articles in the Journal of the Association of Operating Room Nurses on the topics of nursing involvement in accountable care organizations and deserving the patient’s trust.
Suzanne lives in Melbourne, FL with her husband and two daughters.
